THE GREAT LESLIE - SEE YOU AGAIN/THAT'S ALRIGHT (DOUBLE SINGLE REVIEW)

The London 4 piece are back again with 2 incredible singles 'See You Again' and 'That's Alright' to add to their ever growing repertoire.  The guys are definetly serving up the anthems and one thing we can certainly say for sure is that this is a band made for the festival stage.

'See You Again' brings through some hints of throwback indie sounds, those 2000s indie rock moments creeping in throughout.  Be ready to dance as soon as this song starts, filling your ears with the upbeat rhythm that is just a feel good groove guaranteed to put a smile on your face.  The pace drives continuously throughout with the catchy bass line taking the reins at each verse and the guitars lifting the choruses into those anthemic sing along sections.  The drums power through unrelenting in their presence as they sustain the back bone to the rhythm, all of which providing the perfect setting for the captivating vocals from Ollie to take the track to those soaring heights.  This is a high energy track that is the perfect soundtrack song for your summer.

'That's Alright' is the latest offering from the band, bringing a more alt rock sound but still keeping in with those upbeat rhythms, infection guitar hooks and catchy bass line.  The guitar riffs are heavier but just as irresistible and danceable as ever.  The guitars and bass line bouncing off each other as they blaze through and giving us that groove we have come to love from this band.  From the moment the track starts we are launched into a thrilling instrumental that has become a staple in their songs, then into the verse which pulls it back again allowing the bass and drums to lead and then building tensely into the soaring chorus which allows Ollie to show off his striking vocal range.  The song only builds on the energy and if you aren't on your feet the moment this song began then you will be at the first chorus.  This pace continues until the bridge where the rhythm shifts to a pulled back tempo, laden with thick guitars loaded with a rich sound, the perfect switch up that surprises you, yet not faltering from their style.

Both these tracks are the perfect summer songs, they are both the perfect slice of indie and alt rock.  The guys continually release songs that are fresh, uplifting and just pure danceable.  They are taking those familiar sounds that you hear from the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Courteneers to Sam Fender, inputting those influences and shaping a new and fresh sound that is the signature of The Great Leslie.
