REDWOOD CITY - UPTIGHT // SINGLE REVIEW
The song starts out with a brief jangle of guitars followed by a short moment of silence that then introduces the full band, the drums and the acoustic guitar, bass guitar driving the rhythm with the electric guitar giving a slight melodic twist within. This sets up nicely for the vocals to come in, the vocals don't overpower the track which allows the instrumentation to push through without overtaking the vocals. We are then treated to a brief guitar solo early on in the track and what I enjoyed about this is that it appears after the first chorus leading nicely into the second verse and pulls you in even further to the track. The catchy chorus will leave you singing it over and over. The song gradually builds with each element becoming fuller and you just know this song will be a hit in a live setting. The instrumentation flows perfectly together with the vocals and is just a smooth listen from start to finish. A definite ear worm song you will have on repeat.
The song was written by lead singer Evan who brought it to the band and from their creating a catchy summer feeling indie rock anthem.
Formed in the cultural, working class town of Caerphilly, South Wales. The 4 piece Alt-Indie rock band are taking themselves and their music across the country leaving the people with a new favourite band.
Band members: Evan Burridge (vocals) / Shay Furgusson (Drummer) / Ed Davoile (Guitar) / Pete Doble (Bass)
