'Sweetner' kicks off the EP, it's short and its packed full of dreamlike sequences, haunting atmosphere and warped vocals. There is a sense of the Artic Monkey's coming through on this one particularly with the thick guitar riffs and mid tempo rhythm. The heavy indie rock vibes intertwine into the eerily delivered filtered vocals to really create that almost restless tone. The title track 'Ultra Mango' is lighter in its arrangement with a funkier groove, pulsing rhythm and those crunchy synths connecting with his gritty vocals, reaching low depths that will vibrate through to your core. The chilled out vibes create that head bop feet tapping rhythm. 'Marigold' again dips into the funky vibe, this time a little more up tempo compared to 'Ultra Mango' you will go from head bopping to dance floor moving, the filtered guitar riffs and bass line groove give off those psych-rock vibes with an abundance of character guaranteed to wiggle its way into your head. 'Warp Speed Suzie' has a particular character to it bringing a cool headed, thumping vibe and chilled out vocals.
'Yellow Lines' is the lead single from the EP and this one takes a psychedelic pop rock directions and those trippy guitar riffs that bounce around your head will certainly get you floating along with them. The pop elements trickle into the rhythm, which brings out those danceable moments and the laid back bass line delivers a style that is reminiscent to The Gorillaz. 'Shooting Star' closes out the EP and it leans heavier into the indie rock style, going in strong with the grungy vibes and gritty vocals, that will get right underneath your skin. A danceable rhythm, drenched in so much fierceness and intricate melodic flashes its hard to not love this track. Groovy dancing bass lines appear to be the prominent force that appears through out this entire EP, with other elements like the vocals, guitars and synths dancing over the top giving those melodic moments. 'Ultra Mango' is an EP that will delight all your senses, you will want to dance, chill out, sing, bop along and tap your feet to this, there is so much character within this EP that connects you to Tommy and his sound. A sound that you will be no doubt be hearing more of in the near future. So get this guy on your radar.
