SEAN FINDLAY

Sean Findlay is a Dundee based alternative rock solo singer, as a child Sean sold his cartoons to his classmates and spent everyday in the music department.  After leaving school Sean released his debut single 'Living God' in 2019, written after a spiritual experience he had.  The track received over a 1000 streams and airplay on Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.  With his music, Sean aims to push boundaries, bringing thought-provoking lyrics and unique arrangements and his music is influenced by the 1960's.  He has been building a presence within Scotland sine August 2019, gigging relentlessly in Dundee/Edinburgh and Glasgow and has also been putting on his own gigs in Dundee.  he has built up a large body of work and plans to release more in the future.  He has recently released 'Nightclubs In Heaven'. Sean mentions on the song "it's a song about longing to be at shutdown nightclubs (I wrote it during lockdown)"

'Nightclubs In Heaven' is a ballad style track that will resonate with many listeners, the track expresses how much Sean misses being at nightclubs, as well as paying respect to the suffering establishments,  a topic that sits very close to the hearts of many.  The melancholy vibes, calming pace, the minor chords and Sean's vocal delivery tug at your heart and the rich bass line rumbles right through your ears.  This track is a definite sway along to and belt out kind of track.  Sean builds on that emotional atmosphere and you completely fall into the song, with his voice becoming more heart-wrenching leading up to the chorus where he sings out "Are there nightclubs in heaven".  The addition of the piano chords and faint keys in the background of the chorus amplify the emotions even more and everything about this track, the atmosphere, the music, the lyrics will stick with you and linger in your head for a long time after listening.  Musically and lyrically this song is stunning and Sean has delivered a single that shows not only his songwriting/musical skills, it shows his continual growth as he crafts his own sound and etching his name within the Scottish music scene.
