LEMON DRINK

Lemon Drink are a Glasgow based four piece that bring a sound of infectious hooks, anthemic choruses, overdriven indie rock instrumentation, combined with powerful vocals.  The band is made up of Sophie Bartholomew (vocals & guitar), Kirstie 'KC' Cunningham (guitar), Harry Smith (drums) and Lauren Peters (bass).  The band was formed in 2017, hitting the live scene and unleashing their loud, sassy and rebellious pop tinged sound on stages across Scotland in support of the likes of Carla J. Easton, Cloth, Lazy Day and Our Girl amongst others.  The band have also headlined Glasgow venue King Tuts Wah Wah Hut among other esteemed venues.  In 2019 the band had only a few demos to their name, when they were signed to Last Night From Glasgow in the summer, an their EP 'Better Run' was released in March 2020, accompanied by a sold out show.  They have recently released their latest single 'Demon Child'.

'Demon Child' is a higher energy track, compared to the bands previous songs, this one makes an entrance with a vigorous forceful rhythm that will definitely tear up the dancefloor.  Getting right inside your head from the moment the track begins, with the overdriven gritty sounds of the electric guitars and the bass line vibrations rumbling its way through to your core.  The electricity that sparks from the tightly packed instrumentation and the thumping pace of the track, goes at an eager speed and as the song progresses there is a build up of tension and anticipation, feeling as though the track continually gets faster and faster, which will definitely send the crowd into a frenzy in a live setting.  Sophie's vocals flow is so flawless and so freely sung over the top of the instrumental, that as soon as she begins there is a switch from the bass line being the prominent force to Sophie's voice becoming the driving force that brings the track from the low depths to a soaring anthem.  There is also a slight hint of operatic style vocals in her delivery, that brings a charm to the song, making it very distinctive and unique. 'Demon Child' shows a progression in the bands sound.  If you don't already have this band on your playlists then you need to get them added, these guys are a force that are ready to tear up the music scene.
