JORDAN.

JORDAN. is an Edinburgh based singer-songwriter and producer who's sound is a mixture of melancholic, ambient, downtempo pop, ear-rattling, sub-bass and lush autotune melodies sprinkled over the top all of which carries his deep soulful and unapologetic personal songwriting.  He has released his EP 'Echoes: Volume One' with the lead single 'Anything Can Happen'  airing over 200 times across Amazing Radio in the UK and USA and even reaching number 2 in the Amazing Radio USA top 40.

There is an instant feeling of calm that washes over you when you listen to this EP, it radiates warm and chilled out vibes.  Beginning with 'Promised Land', the ambience that comes through pulls you right into the centre of this track, the space from the synths, the atmospheric guitar melody creates the distant and allows you to feel the depths of this track.  The use of reverb on Jordans vocal fills those spacious quiet instrumental moments and evokes a feeling of tension.  That contrast of the light, airy and spacious instrumentation to his deep, passionate vocal tone and delivery brings that melancholic energy.  This track is minimalistic in style, but also there is a futuristic edge to it from the synth melodies.  The aura that surrounds this track is almost like an intake of air at the beginning, keeping hold of it and only allowing you to release that breath when the song comes to an end. 

'Anything Can Happen' the lead single from the EP and what a track, it is beautifully haunting, there is only two main sounds present and that is the piano and Jordan vocals along with scattered swooshing synths.  The sombre piano melody has been dampened in a way that it sounds as though it is not in the same room as Jordan and that use of space allows you to really visualise this track.  The synth elements that push through connect the vocals and the piano together, heightening that eerie anticipation.   The classical melody from the piano combined with the downtempo ambience is just stunning. 

'Shine' closes the EP and it will at tug your heartstrings, again with only two sounds present, Jordan's passionate heartfelt vocals accompanied by a deep sombre piano melody.  There is a dark soulful mood, which is the exact opposite to what the title portrays and the direction you think that this song is going to take.  His voice, the piano, the synths, the atmosphere, the mood and the use of space pulls you in and he has you in the palm of his hand.  

The simplistic soundscapes that Jordan has created in this EP, alongside his unapologetic songwriting is what makes each track so captivating and you find yourself listening to these tracks on repeat over and over.  There is a warmth and a comfort laced underneath the sombre melodies and haunting atmospheres that wraps itself all the way around you.
