RACHAEL BISSET

Dundee based singer-songwriter Rachael Bisset brings her latest single 'Same Mistakes', the song is a summary of her life through 2020 which is a reflection of all that she has learned and realising that it is time to grow and to not make the same mistakes again.  She has performed at Sofar Sounds Edinburgh, True North Virtual Music Festival.  As well as being featured on Amazing Radio with Jim Gellatly and Strictly Scotland Pulse 98.4fm with Stuart Macaulay.

'Same Mistakes' is so stunningly simplistic in its style, with only melodic guitars and Rachaels soul bearing vocals to take you through the emotions of the song with her.  The guitars are panned to each side of the mix and their subtly, brings such a surrounding warmth and comforting feeling to listeners.  Rachael's passionate tone on top of the mellow rhythm, holds so much control and power that you are so captivated by her vocal performance.  You instantly understand the lyrics are coming from place that is raw and personal for Rachael, which will resonate right through to listeners. The chorus is where Rachael intensifies those feelings, where she sings out "I won't make the same mistakes again" sending chills through your body.  The song explores the themes of acknowledging the past and growing from it whilst looking towards to the future.  Rachael mentions that "the birth of this song stemmed from a drunk night alone reflecting on every situation I put myself in during the year of 2020.  I started writing this on acoustic guitar in my bedroom at 2am, I just wanted to let out my emotion then this song flowed out of me".  A truly powerful song.
