GEFAHRGEIST - NUKULAR

Scottish electronic duo Gefahrgeist dropped their second single 'Nukular' and it takes a darker approach musically, telling a different story to 'Graceless' which brought those ethereal dream pop vibes.  'Nukular' is rich in those haunting vibes, from the delicate piano, the low dark cello and those chilling synths from Niall and those textures sit right within the unnerving meaning behind the song, that tells the story of the inside of a nuclear bomb from the eyes of the man who pushed the button.  However the addition of Fiona's soaring and majestic vocals on top lifts you up and you get a truly spine chilling but blissful listen.  The song builds gradually on those feelings of eeriness as you continue to listen, the synths becoming more intense and the introduction of a lo fi deep drumbeat you feel right at the core.  The mesmerising combination of haunting meets angelic truly captures you and this is something that Fiona and Niall have created within their sound, which is surly becoming their signature sound.  Creating an atmosphere that feels so inviting and filled with so much emotion and passion, but also an atmosphere where you are on the edge of your seat, that's what makes this track so moving and unforgettable.  Gefahrgeist are definitely beginning to carve out their own path in the music scene and with 'Graceless' and 'Nukular'in their catalogue, these guys will no doubt take off this year.
