EWAN PATRICK - FEELS GOOD TO BE ALIVE/TWO HEARTS

After his debut release '
Hurricane' and 'Restrospect' back in 2020, Ewan Patrick is back with second release  'Feels Good To Be Alive' and 'Two Hearts'  and they both ooze raw indie rock from every corner.  Ewan writes, records, produces and mixes everything that you hear in his music, all except the cello that you hear in 'Two Hearts' this was composed and recorded by his good friend Rebecca Rowe

'Feels Good To Be Alive' begins with reflection, where you are looking back on what you have done, which is the opening line to this song "looking back on everything I've done".  Ewan's heartfelt gritty vocals, accompanied by music that brings a blanket of warmth and comfort, it will definitely provoke those feelings of contemplation within listeners as well as bringing a sense of comfort that you aren't alone in those feelings.  As we get to around a minute in, the song falls away briefly and we are then catapulted into a massive uplifting instrumental section that will send shivers down your spine.  The song flips from reflection on the past to now looking forward and the feeling of hope, with Ewan ringing out "It Feels Good To Be Alive" a definite section that will get everyone singing.  The instruments wrapping themselves around Ewans vocals to create a fully encompassing listen with heartfelt lyrics and passionate vocal delivery.

'Two Hearts' slows down the tempo with a beautiful acoustic guitar starting the song, with Ewan joining soon after and delivering such sincere, honest and heartfelt lyrics.  Which he stumbled upon this song when writing his wedding speech, he mentions "Not for a minute trying to contrive a love song for my future wife but it just kind of happened".  You can definitely hear that this song was written from the heart and not just a case of writing a song, there is so much meaning behind it and you can feel that Ewan is sincere in every word he sings.  The breathtaking cello melody - composed and recorded by Rebecca Rowe - flows so beautifully with the other instruments and Ewans vocals, as the guitar, drums and piano are very much in the background so this allows the cello to shine through and the rich and warm sound it produces is the setting to this song.
