Daniel Stephen Turner is a singer-songwriter from Colchester. In his early 20s he was heavily involved his the local music scene, playing in various bands and creating original music. However he lost confidence after a few setbacks. After around 10 years he began writing again in October 2019 and he hasn't stopped since. He takes a lot of his inspirations from artists who wear their hearts on their sleeves, his music is open and honest, ofter writing about his mental health issues and loneliness. His latest track 'Lust and Intrigue' was recorded at a local studio with the producer providing the drums and Daniel recording the rest on the track, he mentions "A lot of my songs are more laid back but this one is more upbeat and the first time I have recorded a full band track."
'Lust and Intrigue' is the definition of rugged and raw, the acoustic guitar at the beginning where you hear the movements and vibrations of the strings bring that raw feel right out oozing those rock vibes. The song progressively becomes heavier in its tonality bringing an in your face stomping rhythm, with the addition of the thumping drum beat and bass line, with a vigorous electric guitar riff, it will definitely get you either stamping your foot or nodding your head. The gritty passionate vocals from Daniel over this pacing beat lifts the track into a full on rock anthem fuelled with a lot of emotion. Everything in this track is on the low end register, its all about the bass line where everything gets right into your head and you feel those low vibrations throughout your body. All the rhythms stem from the bass line which allows the song to reach those low depths, there is no melodic elements that dance over the top as such, it's more a song that will rumble right through anyone who listens.
