THE RIOT VANS

The Riot Vans are a Perth Punk Rock band, who are now based in Glasgow.  The band is made up of Charlie Stewart, Aidan Armory, Jack Rennie and Adam Neville, who all come together to create the intense high energy sound that has and will quickly gain them more and more attention.  The guys combine influence from The Libertines, Slaves and The Clash to refine and develop their own melodic yet explosive sound in their music.  The band began gigging around their hometown of Perth to soon selling out the majority of the venues they played. They quickly found themselves playing headline shows at the likes of the O2 ABC and the Oran Mor in Glasgow, aswell as supporting slots at the O2 Academy.  They had also recorded their debut EP 'Roll on The Riot Vans!' in one day and following the success of the EP the guys followed it with indie driven single 'Don't Make Me Say'/'Last Bus' which showcased a further development in the bands sound.  They then released 'Memory Lane' which was met with rave reviews all round and they have since released their high energy punk driven track 'Street Fighter

'Street Fighting' is one of those tunes that as soon as it plays you know the crowd is going to go absolutely crazy.  The track kicks off with heavy drum hits, then straight into a bright vibrant drum beat, alongside an electric guitar rhythm that is laced with funkiness and an energy that will get your attention and up dancing, you just know that a huge chorus is on the horizon.  The clear cut vocals over the top of the funk laced beat knits this entire track together, they are the kind of style you want to hear on a track like this and the crystal clear delivery makes it easy for anyone listen and for the crowd in a live setting to pick up on and sing back to the band.   There are danceable elements heard in the chorus where the instruments take over, the energy of the guitar riff,  the drums and low fi bassline creates a powerful force so strong that you can't not get up and it pulls you to your feet.  Punk just oozes from every inch of this track and if you are a fan of the likes of The Libertines and The Courteneers, these guys will definitely be finding a place within your playlist.
