PRIMES
Falkirk 3 - piece Rock band Primes formed in 2017 after Ollie (Vocals, Bass), Sarah (Guitar) and Reece (Drums) became friends within their local music scene. Their latest releases have gained the attention from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, The sun Newspaper, The Scotsman Newspaper and also have been play-listed by Spotify's editorial team. Having sold out shows in their hometown of Falkirk, the band ventured into Glasgow and Edinburgh to establish themselves within the Scottish music scene. This has seen them on festival lineups such as Party At The Palace, Vibration Festival, ButeFest, Rewind Festival and Soopmas 2020 Virtual Festival for Dragon Soop. Their latest release 'Shangri-La' reached number 29 in the iTunes Rock chart and the track is another slice of what to expect from these guys as they prepare for their debut EP release.
Primes explain the story and meaning behind the song: "’Shangri-La’ is an imaginary paradise, heaven on earth and the fulfilment of our wildest fantasies. As the saying goes, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. ‘Shangri-La’ explores the truth behind the fairytale and the reality that some people unfortunately don’t have a happily ever after. Life can be tough, it will throw you curveball, it’ll beat you down and it’s not always rainbows and butterflies. What makes us keep going? It’s hope. Hope that the future holds something better and It’s exactly within those moments that life becomes exciting, interesting and makes the good times even sweeter."
