KRYTICAL MASS - UNYC0RN

Sandy Power aka Krytical Mass is back with his second release 'Unyc0rn' which comes after the release of his debut 'The Future Sound of KDY' which is a homage to his youth growing up in Kirkcaldy. 'Unyc0rn' was created using software instruments and samples and similar production method to his previous release, but he wanted to add more of a kick, more dimension.  'Unyc0rn' certainly does that, it takes a darker minimal house/deep techno approach, one which Sandy purposefully and deliberately planned out to showcase the development in his sound and production skills even further, from the lush and vibrant melodies of 'The Future Sound of KDY' to the minimalistic beat of the pulsing bass lines in 'Unyc0rn'.  There is a lot more room within the track, that allows the percussive elements the space to come through and dance over the voluminous drumbeat and bassline and you can certainly get the low ceiling underground club atmosphere with this one.  The track continues to build on the ambience, with the suspense building to a melodic crescendo, where it goes from high end drum and percussive to the gradual addition of the low end melodic groove in the bass and synth line that evolve into a intense full on section containing all the ingredients guaranteed to get you moving.  You will definitely experience the club vibe as this track gets right inside your head and it will nestle itself nicely into the playlists of those who are avid fans of deep house/techno. 

A little background on the track: The music contains an eerie sample of a musical toy unicorn keyring, sourced from Sandy's day job working at the historic monument situated on an island in the River Forth, which lends the track its name, as well as using multiple layers of drums, percussion and synthesisers to create its dense, building cacophony.

The single artwork has been created by Jade Wotherspoon, who painted, photographed and edited the background image, which was commissioned by Krytical Mass.
