JASON BATTERSBY

Birmingham singer/songwriter and producer Jason Battersby, has a unique sound that can only be described as "thought provoking, hypnotic and passionate".  His eclectic style is influenced by artists from The Beatles and Radiohead to Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator, which results in a sound filled with Alt-Rock, Pop and R&B.  His music has been played on BBC Introducing and major local radio stations and he is also a regular performer at popular and music venues in his hometown of Birmingham.  He has also performed nationwide at festivals and venues including the national Foodies Festivals, supporting the likes of Scouting For Girls and at Pizza Express Live Music venues.  His single 'Tell Me Lies' is the latest single from his recently released EP 'Once More Unto the Beat'

'Tell Me Lies' delivers a little bit of everything, combining styles from the chill vibe of R&B to those uplifting Pop melodies and Jazz undertones.  Beginning with a mellow drum beat, followed by a  rich low frequency bassline that is the steady presence through out, emphasising the chilled out R&B vibe and the guitar brings the shimmery pop melodies that will get your head bopping.  Jason's vocals come in soon after and they are so captivating, but tinged with a slight sadness that keeps you completely immersed in his unique vocal tone, soul and passion just gushes from this track.  There is an intensity to it that is felt lyrically, but also a warmth that comes from the instrumentation, that creates such a welcoming and inviting listen that draws you in and the Jazz undertones in the note placements brings that unique funky rhythm.
