17 year old up and coming Los Angeles based artist Ava Ruby has released her latest single 'better than you' in December 2020, which is the follow up to her debut single 'LSD' which was also released in 2020.  If you are into laid back electronic pop, then you need to check Ava out!

'better than you' is just a blissful laid back pop song with delicate instrumentation and vocals that are gently sung for a mellow and easy listen, yet hold a lot of passion in Ava's tone where you can hear and feel exactly what she is feeling as she tells the story of a relationship coming to an end.  The first verse tells the part where she is realising that it is coming "You left me on your couch sipping wine, and meanwhile I was thinking the whole time... just wants to be with me" and then when you get to the chorus this is where Ava now realises that she deserves better "I wanna be with someone better than you"  which is the realisation after the pre chorus where the person the song is about know's her number and if they were to call she will be there "I know you know my number anytime...And I'll be there I'll be there".   What makes this song so powerful is how calm Ava is in telling the story, there is no shouting but there is deep emotion, that is expressed in a composed manner to really get her feelings across.  The instrumentation is just as calm as her vocals, with the tame drum beat, the guitar melody that is glazed with soothing tones and the unhurried tempo of the track creates an atmosphere that is warm and you will find comfort in this track and one many can relate to.
