VICTORIA SPONGE

Victoria Sponge are a 5 piece Glasgow based alternative rock band, that deliver upbeat sounds and catchy rhythms.  The band consists of Chris (vocals), Ross (lead guitar), James (rhythm guitar), Kyle (bass) and Dylan (drums).  In October the guys released their fantastic 3 track EP 'Filty Pure'.

'Devil's Tool' kicks the EP off in a mellow tone, with the soft shimmery guitars, subtle keys layered with those velvety vocals creating a warm and welcoming ambience.  The track gains momentum and opens up into a high energy element with heavy gritty guitars, driving drums and thick bassline bringing that low end punch.  The sudden change in tempo, amped up rhythm and riffs will definitely get you on your feet. 

'Commonplace' starts as it means to go on with the rocking tempo, catchy guitar riffs, attention grabbing vocals that will get stuck in your head instantly and driving drum beats.  The several changes in the instrumental intensity throughout are guaranteed to keep your focus, moving from high energy to the sudden calm sections create an element of surprise that you just can't seem to pull yourself away. A full out rock anthem.

'Talk About Tonight' is one of those tracks that as soon as it starts it will get you hyped up, the drums play for a few bars on their own, with the distorted guitar coming in followed by a high velocity piano, with subtle guitar elements heard underneath.  The way each instrument is introduced in this track over the slow build up, creates that atmosphere where you are completely ready to go wild and dance around to!  A track that will get the crowd going crazy in a live setting!

An absolutely incredible EP that anyone who listens will fully enjoy from start to finish, filled with pure danceable moments, memorable guitar riffs and high energy vibes.
