NOT NOW NORMAN
Not Now Norman are a 4 piece intergenerational hard/alternative rock band hailing from Berwick Upon Tweed, performing a mixture of original songs along with well known covers. The bands beginnings stem from lead singer Taylor who had left college with a degree, attended several interviews and found that nobody was willing to take her on due to her disabilities. This was when guitarist Zander Brown approached her to record a lighthearted session as a confidence booster and it was quickly discovered that Taylor had an incredible singing voice. The band has now expanded into a 4 piece consisting of Taylor Mitchell (vocals), Zander Brown (guitar), Lara Hindhaugh (bass) and Bodhi Turnbull (drums), and Not Now Norman was born.
The band are known for their sassy vocals, straight to the point delivery and in your face lyrics. Their recent single 'Little Cheryl' is no different, the song starts off strong with the tight punchy drums and hard gritty guitar riffs. The powerful vocal from Taylor and the lyrics, are delivered with a passion and energy leaving you completely immersed in the story that is being told. The song is about social media and the way people portray their lives online, with the insecurities, the competition that happens as a result, which will connect with people on every level. The chorus is where the song opens up and hits a more heavier rock section, that elevates this already great track into a powerhouse anthem.
