Edinburgh based singer-songwriter Jonnie Wallace has recently released his 2 track EP, featuring 'I Talk Too Much' and 'Royalty'. He has been busy throughout 2020, releasing EP 'Cupid Stunts' back in April, live streaming on his socials and uploading videos to his Youtube channel; covers, original songs and challenges. He has delivered again with this 2 track EP bringing melancholy lyrics and incredible vocals.
'I Talk Too Much' takes you on journey lyrically, telling the story of going on a date that ends up going wrong because you have said a bit too much. A line that captures this is the opening where he asks the question "do I talk too much, when we go out for drinks and I don't give you any space to think". Anyone who listens to this song will relate to the story in some way or another, as it portrays the feelings and nerves felt when you are on a date, not wanting to fall into an awkward silence, so you end up trying too hard to fill it with conversation and end up overdoing it. The instrumental contrasts the lyrics perfectly bringing a warmth and pleasant tone to the song. The groove of the bass guitar leans on that funky rhythm, followed by the intricate acoustic guitar melody and thick drums adding to the songs overall depth.
This is an incredible EP from Jonnie, it's raw and heartfelt, which you really feel as soon as you listen to both the tracks.
