Their previous releases 'Slow', 'Blind', 'Selfish', 'Car Radio' and 'Tuesday' are all pop anthems and their latest track 'Bright Lights' is no different.
'Bright Lights' delivers everything you would expect from a high energy pop song. Insanely danceable melodies combined with singable moments, making this an incredibly addictive track that you have to put on repeat. You feel instantly uplifted with the driving drums, bright and shimmery guitars which are inspired by The 1975 and Fickle Friends and fans of both will definitely feel at home with this track. The punchy drums keeps the uptempo rhythm, alongside the driving guitar melodies, low end bass and powerful vocals from Abi makes for some incredible atmospheric moments. There is some 80's/90's throwback elements that are guaranteed to fill you with nostalgic vibes. This is a hard hitting pop track that takes nostalgic influences from artists like Prince with 'Purple Rain', as well as Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue influences shining through. Floxglove are cementing themselves firmly into the indie pop scene, with their ever growing presence and 'bright lights' will further their exposure even more.
Lead singer Abi White on 'Bright Lights':
"This track was all about hitting the nostalgia feeling and that's what we feel whenever we play this track. It's a very antehmic song within the choruses, weaving in the 90's distorted feeling. The rest of the track feels like an 80's synth ballad, with big hard hitting snares and glittery guitars. The track is an amalgamation of our favourite genres from when we were growing up".
