SIENNE

Hailing from Liverpool rock band Sienne are making noise with their energetic sound and are quickly making a name for themselves in the music scene.  The band was formed in 2019 and is made up of Calan Nickel (lead vocals), Richard Taylor (guitar), James Rookyard (bass) and Charlie Skeggs (drums).  They Spent their time towards the end of 2019 writing and reordered their first 2 singles 'Where is Home' and 'Coming Alive', which were both released at the start of 2020.  Over lockdown the guys have been focusing on writing more music from their home studios and when restrictions eased they managed to get back into the studio to record their follow up singles with producer Alec Brits.  Releasing 'Side By Side' in July, followed by 'Gone Too Long' in August, all their tracks have received airplay on radios up and down the UK including BBC Introducing Merseyside.  They have now released their latest single 'Can You Hear Me Now?' and it's another taste of what to expect from Sienne in the future!

'Can You Hear Me Now?' is a rock filled track that packs a punch, it was definitely created with stadiums in mind, with the belting chorus that will get you singing at the top of your lungs, huge drumbeats layered with thick melodic guitar rhythms, guaranteed to get you dancing!  The  foot stomping, hand clapping and isolated vocals heard mainly in the chorus is very reminiscent of Queen 'We Will Rock You'.  The instrumentation falls into the background at the chorus, leaving the lyrics to take over and belt out "can you hear me know, calling out your name you know it never feels the same" that shows the frustration of being left behind and forgotten about and will definitely resonate with anyone who listens, letting them know that they are not alone.  It is a song that will get the crowd going wild in a live setting and one that I look forward to hearing live when gigs resume!

The band give a little insight into the creative process of the track: "Can You Hear Me Now’ is a song that has been in the pipeline of sorts for a very long time. Originally a demo by Charlies Dad in the early 1980s, the idea was brought to us by him as something we could develop, transform and modernise to fit our sound".
