ANIMAL BREAKDOWN

London based trio Animal Breakdown fuse together a blend of Indie Rock with a dash of Power Pop, a nostalgic step back into 80s Post Punk/New Wave.  Delivering powerful lyrics that explore the shadowlands of life; the darkest nights of the soul.  The band was formed out of the ashes of family tragedy, broken hearts, violence and unemployment, Martin, Josef and Marco came together to form Animal Breakdown.  They have recently release their fourth single 'Almost Lost' that brings 80s post-punk with a breath of dreampop.  The track was recorded during a weekend retreat to Brighton, where the guys united with audio engineer Wynter Prior who is known for his remarkable work in the heavy metal scene.

'Almost Lost' delivers a unique cross-over sound of an indie pop sensibility with heavy production stylings, offering a romantic twist upon the energetic thrills the band are known for.  The track starts out with those heavy fuzzy grungy guitars, with that thick bassline guaranteed to get right inside your head.  You think that an instrumental such as this will be accompanied with heavy grungy vocals to match, instead the vocals lift the heaviness of the instrumental up to a dream like vibe, giving that euphoric haunting dreampop feel.  They are delivered with such passion and heart, that listeners will find themselves falling into them.  There is an abundance of space in this track, with the use of reverb (and lots of it) to give the track that big room atmospheric feeling, like you are right there in the room with them.  There is a strong energy that surrounds this track, that anyone who listens will be instantly captivated by the melodies and lyrics, making it hard to pull yourself away from!
