SEAGOTH
Seagoth is the musical venture created by Liverpool based dreampop musician Georgia Ochoa, she has been creating music under the name Seagoth since 2015, and emerging onto the music scene in 2019 with her self produced debut EP 'House Party for Ghosts'. The EP was created using Garageband on her iPhone and a cheap Stratocaster, bringing dreamy atmospheric guitars and vocals. Then at the beginning of 2020 she released her follow up EP 'Internet Cafe' which brought more experimental elements and experimenting with samples, showcasing her growth and development within her music. She has since been using lockdown to really hone in and perfecting her sound and craft, and continually finding new inspirations.
The latest release 'Dreamworld' is a track that takes you on a psychedelic atmospheric journey with dreamy guitars, trippy drums and mesmerising vocals. The track has become an entrancing ballad taking influences from MGMT'S 'Little Dark Age'and Beach House's album '7'. It is a cocktail of psychedelic infused rock, that has shimmery synthesisers and emotional vocals. The track as a whole is taking Seagoth in a experimental direction from her originally bedroom-pop orientated music, which again is showing her personal growth in her musical journey and her releases. Georgia says that "The lyrics "wake me up, something keeps waking me up. But I keep coming back here in my dreams" refers to the repetitive e-piano that's mimicking an alarm sound. Those few moments before you fully wake and your alarm is blending into your dream momentarily causing the 'Dreamworld' to spill into reality for a few seconds. That strange and real feeling is what I attempted to replicate in this track with the lyrics and instrumentation".
