PILLOW DOG

Pillow Dog is the musical project created by Tim Fischer and Marcel Niebuhr, who are from Bielefeld/Hanover, Germany.  Both the guys sing, write and play guitar, back in 2018 they both began trying to write a song that suit both their styles, leading to the creation of their atmospheric track 'Addict' released in July 2020.  The track delivers on gritty vocals/effects with emotive undertones and heart-wrenching guitar riffs.  The guys mentioned that "We totally forgot about the song and met again nearly a year later when we talked about it again, about that time we both had some more time write more music, so we set a date and managed everything DIY to get a recording session done".  During that time they had written and recorded their six track EP 'Happy Heart Attack vol. I', taking inspiration from artists such as Skegss, Current Joys, FIDLAR and Bass Drum Of Death they created an EP with a "nostalgic feel".  Another year had passed since recording the EP and with the files sitting on their computer, they then wanted to let the world hear what they have created, so Marcel took the tracks to get mixed and mastered.

The genre of their music is mostly identified with a mixture of 'Bedroom Pop, Surf Punk, New Wave, Garage Rock and Indie pop', leaving their audience to decide on the genre that best fits.  They have released several tracks on the lead up to their EP drop, with their most recent track being 'Frantic'.  This track I feel sits mostly between 'Bedroom Pop' and 'Garage Rock', with the prominent bassline, grungy guitars and the overdriven vocals.  As previously mentioned with their track 'Addict', 'Frantic' is also very atmospheric, creating an almost eerie feel through the effects used and it just makes you want to listen to more of their music!  There is no set date yet for the EP release but be sure to follow these guys on their socials to keep posted on when that date will be and have a listen to their released singles below!↓↓
