PETER CAT

Glasgow based band Peter Cat, are set to release their debut indie pop album 'The Saccharine Underground' on the 6th of November, the first release on new DIY record label MoFi Records (owned by William Codona and Neil McLeod).  Recorded at Glasgow's Green Door Studios and mixed by producer Chris McCrory.  The record keeps to the analogue form of recording, with every track being recorded to tape with no digital instrumentation used throughout the process.  The album will take you on a journey of your musical senses, one moment you will hear undertones of Jazz/classical influences, to glam rock, synth-pop, post-punk and baroque pop influences.  Mixing them together to create a fruitful upbeat and musically ambitious album!  You will be so entranced and lost in this album's eccentric direction, with the unique bass-baritone voice of the lead singer Graham Neil Gillespie, reminiscent of Bowie and Brian Ferry's vocal styles.  It is an album that you will put on repeat over and over, with each listen picking out something different within the tracks that you missed previously, making it hard to tear your ears away from and will get you moving. It is more than just listening to this album, it's an experience that you need to take the time to fully submerge yourself into.

Peter Cat describe "The ten tracks sizzle with lyrical wit of Jonathan Richman, the wry vocal stylings of John Grant, the angular production punch of Franz Ferdinand-sparks collaboration, and yet sounds quite unlike anything else out there in guitar pop right now". Each track has the body of glam rock influences, with a different musical style intertwined to create 10 completely unique tracks.

The lead single from the album is the funk infused art-pop driven track 'A.S.M.R', which the band mention is about the "existential perils of spending too many nights alone, with a pair of high-fidelity headphones, in the company of auto-sensory meridian response videos".  'A.S.M.R' is now available to stream on all platforms, so  go have a listen to the track below and get the date saved for the release of 'The Saccharine Underground' dropping on the 6th of November you don't want to miss it! ↓↓
