KRYTICAL MASS

Krytical Mass is a musician and songwriter based in Fife, created by Sandy Power who is also part of indie rock band 'Cornfield Chase' and with them he released their EP 'Vitality' back in 2019.  Sandy has now ventured out on his own and dived into the world of electronic music, with his new solo project Krytical Mass.  His debut solo release 'The Future Sound of KDY' is a reference to his hometown of Kirkcaldy, which is now available across all streaming platforms and digital stores today.

'The Future Sound of KDY' re-explores older material from his adolescent band 'Beep! Beep! Ping!', with two tracks re-imagined and re-worked creating catchy and infectious rhythms.  These tracks really highlight the direction in which 'Krytical Mass' is taking, fully submerging into the world of synthesisers, loops and samples.  The first track 'Future Sounds' sits at an unmistakable 137bpm, a tempo that is synonymous with high energy dance tracks.  The song infuses a fast break beat, short repetitive phrases and a thumping bass line, to create a funky toe tapping track.  The second track 'Infinite' has a slight slower more groovy tempo, bringing over driven pianos and solid rhythmic elements.  The middle of the track breaks away into a percussion groove, then intensifying towards the end of the track, with different recorded elements and synths.  Both the tracks were written, recorded and mixed by 'Krytical Mass' and then mastered by 'KLEOPATRA'.

Looking towards the future Krytical Mass plans to release two more singles and also a second EP.  He mentions that "the sound will get crazier and a little more intense, but will retain the groove and danceability".  Make sure you put Krytical Mass on your radar, he is creating new sounds that you need to hear!
