PIZZA CRUNCH

The 4 - piece indie rock band - with the most amazingly unique and stand out name - Pizza Crunch from Glasgow are stirring up the music scene with their gritty and grungy sound.  Continuing on that sound into their brand new single 'Twelve Month Seasonal Depression', this is the bands follow up single off the back of their successful debut single 'Fraud'.  Which grabbed the attention of multiple radio stations such as BBC Introducing and Amazing radio, accumulating  20,000 plays since it's release in February.  The new single 'Twelve Month Seasonal Depression' is set to be even bigger!  The track was recorded during lockdown and then mixed by Chris Marshall, the producer of well known artists Gerry Cinnamon and Baby Strange. Check out their previous single 'Fraud' below ↓

                                  

The new single sticks to the roots of the gritty post punk/alternative rock sound that 'Fraud' delivered.  The lyrics throughout for example  'your heart takes the hit, whilst your mind plays dirty tricks' stand out in this track and will definitely resonate through to people.  The band have indicated that the influences and inspiration for the lyrics, come from bands such as Joy Division, for example their track 'atmosphere', which dives into deep emotional feelings.  They also quoted that the song is "not overly serious", so there is a sense of "tongue and Cheek" and a hint of "irony" particularly with the song title 'Twelve Month Seasonal Depression'. Inspired by artists such as Alex Turner and jazz artist Tom Waits and how they have crafted this musical tone in their music.

These guys are a fresh sound out of Glasgow and a rising talent in the Scottish scene.  They have gigged around Glasgow, playing in venues such as Broadcast, The Priory Bar and The Old Hairdressers, also venturing up to play Mad Hatters in Inverness.  They were due to be back in The Priory Bar in March supporting The Velvet Hands, which has since been rescheduled to 2021!  Be sure to check these guys out! ↓
